Submit Your Writing
If you would like to become part of our community of young writers, then you need only to have a piece of writing you are proud of…one that you think will inspire others to consider your perspective on local and global issues. Perhaps it is a story of your own thoughtful actions, or piece about something that concerns you. Maybe you would like to challenge others to make a difference!
Whatever the case, it can be in any format you would like–poem, story, essay or even drawing. If it is a piece of writing, we would definitely like it to be in 200 words or less. If you have a drawing to submit, please scan it and attach it in an email. The wonderful painting on the left was created by 9 year old Grace in my class. She simply took a digital photograph of her work and attached the picture in an email. It would be wonderful if you included a description of your artwork and what it means to you.
Know that my students will not post everything received. They will carefully review everything you send them under my (Mrs. Whiffin’s) guidance. If your work does make it into our blog, we will notify you via email. If it does not, we will give you feedback on what you can do to improve so that, next time, it will make it in.
Please email your submissions to:
futurehopenow@gmail.com
If you are a classroom teacher who is interested in having your students become a review/feedback panel as well, I would love to hear from you! I would be quite interested in having my students submit their work to others to be reviewed before they are published to the site as well. Simply send me an email, and we will discuss how this could work.

It was a great pleasure for me to visit your classroom yesterday morning! Thank you for welcoming me and sharing your Real Acts of Caring plans and stories. All these actions you are planning, small and large, will make a difference for someone, or for the environment, and/or for YOU! Please notice how it FEELS when you carry out the kind, caring act! I look forward to reading more about RAC over the next weeks!
